Hunter Winfield’s Mille Lacs Resort

Hunter Winfield’s, a Minnesota Resort, is located on Isle Bay on Mille Lacs Lake’s beautiful southeast corner. We boast breathtaking views of Father Hennepin State Park and Isle Bay.

We are well into our summer season now – while we had a great winter with our 7 new darkhouses for spearing (see Spearfishing and Darkhouse Rental Page for reservations next year) – we are more than happy to take on the summer fishing season. With the DNR regulations of 10 northern per angler and 6 smallies, there is more than enough for an ample fish fry. Our walleye limit is 1 (19″-21″) per angler but that is more than enough fish for a couple people – they are big, and tasty!

The DNR wants your help catching some of the predatory fish so our walleye population can continue to increase….catch some great monster northern, giant smallmouth and other great pan fish….

Enjoy all we have to offer…a great town, beautiful scenery, a great lake with some awesome fishing – see you at the bonfire!

Our resort features:

Mille Lacs Lake Log Cabin Rental

Black Bear Bungalow

Some more information about our resort:

During the Ice Fishing Season, Mille Lacs boasts approximately 5,000 ice fishing shacks each year. If you are planning some ice fishing, check out our Ice Fishing Wheelhouse Rentals which are like no other … DirecTV, stove, oven and bathroom!

In the summer months, you will enjoy breathtaking sunsets over Father Hennepin while casting a line off our 200′ white oak pier. Catch walleye, northern, bass, or pan fish including perch and sunfish. This year we have had some of the biggest fish ever off the dock – a few over 28″ even as well as some nice keepers.

About Mille Lacs

Mille Lacs is Minnesota’s second largest lake best known for walleye, smallmouth bass, and muskie fishing. Mille Lacs is 132,500 acres and stretches 18 miles in one direction and over 20 miles the other direction. Our southern half of the lake is known for its gravel and rock bars. Even if you aren’t here to fish, visitors enjoy casual cruises around the lake where you’ll find Hennepin Island and Spirit Island which together make up a national wildlife refuge.  Mille Lacs is home to walleye, northern muskie, jumbo perch, bass (large and small mouth), crappie, eelpout, and tullibee. In the winter, more than 5,000 ice fishing houses decorate the landscape. Read more about Mille Lacs Lake.
