Our Location

Isle Bay is a charming little fishing village with a population of about 700. We are tucked away  on Mille Lacs’ southeast corner. Isle is recently home to an Ice Fishing Reality Pilot that should air fall of 2013. TV Crews descended on our town in May 2012  and started filming during ice fishing season in 2013. The premise of the show will be to celebrate the culture of ice fishing in and around Isle, Minnesota.  Mille Lacs boasts approximately 5,000 ice fishing shacks each year. In the summer months, you will enjoy breathtaking sunsets over Father Hennepin while casting a line off our 200′ white oak pier. Catch walleye, northern, bass, or pan fish including perch and sunfish. This year we have had some of the biggest fish ever off the dock – a few over 28″ even as well as some nice keepers!

About Mille Lacs

Mille Lacs is Minnesota’s second largest lake best known for walleye, smallmouth bass, and muskie fishing. Mille Lacs is 132,500 acres and stretches 18 miles in one direction and over 20 miles the other direction. Our southern half of the lake is known for its gravel and rock bars. Even if you aren’t here to fish, visitors enjoy casual cruises around the lake where you’ll find Hennepin Island and Spirit Island which together make up a national wildlife refuge.

Mille Lacs is home to walleye, northern muskie, jumbo perch, bass (large and small mouth), crappie, eelpout, and tullibee. In the winter, more than 5,000 ice fishing houses decorate the landscape.

Hunter Winfield’s is a “mom-n’-pop” resort owned by Mike & Margie Christensen. Mike has been a guide on the lake for over 15 years. Read more About Mike.

Margie works the office with the help of Nelle and Dave and just got her real estate license so if you are looking to buy or sell real estate in the area, be sure to let her know! Mike & Margie have 2 young children, 4 and 2.
